About The Ecclesia
What is The Ecclesia?
The Ecclesia is an adults-only social and lifestyle venue in Glasgow city centre. We host social events, themed nights, lifestyle events, kink events and educational workshops in a relaxed, consent-led environment.
People attend for many different reasons: to meet people, socialise, learn, play, attend with existing partners or simply enjoy the community. There is never an obligation to participate in anything you do not want to do.
Do I need to be a member to attend?
No. The Ecclesia does not operate as a traditional members-only club. You can book individual events, subject to any vetting or entry requirements shown for that event.
Who is welcome at The Ecclesia?
People of all genders and across the gender spectrum are welcome, whether attending alone, as a couple or with partners.
Individual events can sometimes have specific entry requirements, gender ratios, age requirements or themes, so always check the event listing before booking.
Is The Ecclesia 18+?
Yes. All Ecclesia events are for adults aged 18 or over unless an event specifically advertises a higher minimum age, such as a 30+ event.
We operate Challenge 25, so please bring suitable photographic identification if you look under 25. Private hire events may occasionally have their own additional age restrictions.
Can I attend on my own?
Absolutely. Lots of people attend The Ecclesia by themselves, including first-time visitors. You do not need to arrive with a partner or already know somebody at the club.
Do I have to have sex or play with anyone?
No. You are just as welcome to spend the entire event chatting, socialising and making friends.
Attending a sex-positive or lifestyle venue does not create any obligation to participate sexually or in kink/play.
Does buying a ticket guarantee sex or play?
No. Your ticket buys your admission to the event. It does not purchase access to another attendee, guarantee sex or play, or entitle you to anybody else’s time or attention.
Everyone attending The Ecclesia is another paying customer and consenting adult. They are completely free to say yes or no to any interaction.
First-Time Visitors
I've never been to a club like this before. Is that okay?
Of course. Everyone had a first event once, and we regularly welcome people who have never attended a lifestyle club, kink event or similar venue before.
You do not need to know everything before arriving.
What happens when I arrive for the first time?
First-time attendees are given a tour of the venue. We show you where everything is, explain anything important you need to know, introduce you to members of staff and normally finish the tour in the social area.
This gives you a chance to settle in rather than simply being left to work everything out yourself.
What if I don't know anyone?
That is extremely common. Our staff will introduce themselves during your tour and you will finish in the social space.
Our Telegram community can also be useful before your first event. Attendees sometimes organise informal pre-event drinks or meet-ups, giving newcomers a chance to meet a few familiar faces before arriving at the club.
Which event should I attend first?
There is no single correct answer. Some people prefer a busy themed event, while others are more comfortable beginning with a quieter social, workshop or lower-pressure evening.
Read the event descriptions and choose something that genuinely appeals to you. If you are unsure, contact us and we are happy to help you decide which upcoming event may suit you best.
Booking & Vetting
How do I book to attend The Ecclesia?
We get this question a lot, and the easiest place to start is by choosing the event you would like to attend.
You can see our upcoming events here:
https://www.ecclesiaglasgow.com/upcoming-events/
We recommend looking through the upcoming dates and choosing an event that genuinely appeals to you. Where possible, do this with plenty of notice, as some ticket categories and events can sell out.
Once you have chosen an event, contact us with the event name and date. WhatsApp and email are generally the best ways to reach us, although you can also contact us through FabSwingers or Telegram.
From there, we can either take you through any vetting that is required or provide the appropriate booking link.
Simply messaging us to say “How do I attend?” will usually result in us asking you to look through the event listings and tell us which event you are interested in first.
How does vetting work?
Some events require attendees to be vetted before their booking is accepted. Vetting helps us maintain a safer community and gives us an opportunity to identify potential concerns before somebody attends.
The exact process can vary depending on the individual and the event.
Do I need a FabSwingers profile?
Not necessarily. FabSwingers is useful because an established profile and genuine verifications can make vetting considerably easier, but we understand that not everybody uses Fab.
Alternative vetting may be possible.
Do I need FabSwingers verifications?
Not in every circumstance. Good, genuine verifications can help us understand your experience within the community and may make vetting easier.
Having few or no verifications does not automatically prevent you attending.
I booked a couples ticket. Can I attend alone?
A couples ticket requires both people included in the booking to attend.
If one person is no longer able to attend, please contact us as soon as possible so we can review the booking and, where possible, change it to an appropriate single ticket.
Please do not simply arrive alone using a couples ticket, as different ticket types may have different prices, availability or entry requirements.
Any change is subject to availability and the normal booking conditions for that event.
What gender ticket should I book?
The Ecclesia is LGBTQ+ inclusive, and we respect our customers’ right to identify as the gender that reflects who they are.
Please book the ticket category that most appropriately reflects your gender identity.
We understand that gender is not always binary, which is why some events may also offer TV/NB or other gender-diverse ticket options.
However, where we reasonably believe somebody has deliberately booked a ticket category that does not reflect their identity simply to obtain cheaper entry or bypass booking restrictions, we reserve the right to refuse entry and/or require the correct ticket to be purchased.
I saw TV/NB tickets. What does that mean?
Some of our events offer a TV/NB ticket category for customers who do not fit neatly within the usual male/female ticket categories.
This can include non-binary customers, some transgender or gender-diverse attendees, and customers who cross-dress or otherwise sit elsewhere on the gender spectrum.
If you are genuinely unsure which ticket best reflects you, please contact us before booking and we will be happy to help.
However, where we reasonably believe somebody has deliberately selected a TV/NB ticket simply to obtain cheaper entry or bypass restrictions attached to another ticket category, we reserve the right to refuse entry and/or require the correct ticket to be purchased.
Can I book and pay cash on the door?
Simply put, no.
Due to the requirements of our public liability insurance, and to help us keep our event pricing competitive, places at our standard public events must be booked and paid for in advance using our online booking system.
Booking links are provided to customers on request, subject to any vetting requirements that apply to the event.
We appreciate that discretion is important to our customers. Online payments use a discreet statement descriptor and will generally appear on your bank statement as “Glasgow” or similar, rather than displaying The Ecclesia or details of the event you are attending. This ensures that causal observers of bank statements will be unable to trace it to our club.
Please do not arrive at an event expecting to pay cash at the door unless we have specifically told you otherwise in advance.
Do I need to send photographs for vetting?
We may occasionally need enough information to reasonably establish who we are speaking to, depending on the circumstances, and we will explain what is needed if additional verification is required.
We do not require nude photographs for vetting.
Why might a booking be declined?
The Ecclesia reserves the right to refuse admission or decline bookings where we have concerns about safety, behaviour, previous conduct, communication or suitability for an event.
Admission is not automatic simply because somebody is willing to purchase a ticket.
Can single men attend?
Yes. Single men attend The Ecclesia regularly.
Single male places can sometimes be restricted or sell out faster at particular events, and vetting may be required. Being a single man does not itself prevent you attending.
Events & What to Expect
What happens at different Ecclesia events, such as the themed Fun For All's or Greedy Girls?
Most Ecclesia events fall into broad categories, although every night will be slightly different.
For example, Fun For All events welcome all genders and we usually try to keep the balance of male and female tickets as close to 1:1 as reasonably possible. Greedy Girls events are deliberately more male-heavy, with attendance normally capped at around one woman to three men. We also run kink nights, workshops, themed events and other specialist nights.
Some event names give you a fairly good idea of the intended atmosphere. Greedy Girls, for example, is generally a very sexually active event where gangbang, group and open-door play are common, although private play, kink and socialising may also take place.
Realistically, however, nobody can tell you exactly what will happen on any particular night. It depends entirely on who attends, who connects with whom, what people feel comfortable doing and the general mood of the event. Nothing is guaranteed simply because it has happened at a previous event.
Some specialist events have a more structured format. For example, CFNM events may specify when male attendees are expected to dress down, while events such as Poker Night may have additional rules, roles or activities. Where this applies, we provide more detailed information within the event listing and/or separate event information pages.
We strongly recommend reading the full event description before booking and choosing events because the theme and format appeal to you personally, rather than based on what you hope other attendees may do.
Tickets & Event Changes
Are tickets refundable or transferable?
Generally, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
However, we understand that circumstances sometimes change. With sufficient notice we may, entirely at our discretion, offer a transfer or another solution depending on the reason, availability and notice provided.
Please contact us as early as possible if there is a problem with your booking.
What happens if The Ecclesia cancels an event?
If we cancel an event, we will contact those booked to attend. Customers will normally be offered the choice of moving their booking to another suitable event or receiving a refund.
What time is last entry?
Last entry varies between events. Please check the individual event listing and your pre-event email for the information relating to your booking.
Can I leave during the event and come back?
Generally, yes. Customers regularly pop out during an event and return later — for example, if they have forgotten to buy drinks beforehand.
There may occasionally be event-specific restrictions, so follow any instructions given for that particular event.
Venue & Facilities
Where is The Ecclesia?
The Ecclesia is in Glasgow city centre, close to Point A Hotel on Bath Street.
For safety and privacy, we do not publicly advertise the full venue address. Confirmed attendees are provided with the information they need before attending.
I've booked an event but don't have the address. When will I receive it?
This is one of our most common questions.
The full venue information is normally sent automatically by email approximately 24 hours before the event.
For example, if your event starts at 8pm on Friday, you would normally expect the email at around 8pm on Thursday.
This is also explained during the booking process and on the ticket booking screen, so please read the information provided when booking as it contains important details about your event.
If you book less than 24 hours before the event, the automatic email may already have been sent. In that situation, we manually send the event information to you, usually as soon as reasonably possible.
We often manage this within around an hour during normal waking hours, but please remember that this is a manual process. We may be working, travelling, driving, asleep or preparing the venue. For example, a booking made at 2am should not expect an immediate response.
If you have booked legitimately, you will be sent the address and arrival information before the event. There is no need to repeatedly request it after booking. You should only be concerned if you booked the event far in advance and have not had the email 24 hours before the event, in that instance we recommend checking firstly what email did you book with, and secondly your spam box.
Why don't you publicly advertise the full address?
Privacy and discretion are important to many of our attendees. Keeping the precise venue location within confirmed attendee communications also helps us manage access to the club.
How do I get there?
We are in Glasgow city centre, close to Point A Hotel on Bath Street, with good access by bus, rail and Subway.
There is on-street city-centre parking around the surrounding area. Parking restrictions and charges vary by street and time, so always check the signage where you park.
Is the venue accessible?
Unfortunately, the venue does not currently have step-free access and is located up several flights of stairs.
We do have regular disabled attendees who are able to manage the stairs with assistance, and we will always endeavour to help wherever reasonably possible.
If you have mobility or accessibility concerns, please contact us before booking so we can discuss the venue honestly and help you decide whether it is suitable for you.
Is there somewhere to get changed?
Yes. We have a changing area for attendees, although it can occasionally become busy or cramped at larger events.
Customers may also change in other suitable rooms. Private rooms are available for anybody who would feel more comfortable changing privately, including cross-dressing attendees or anyone who simply wants privacy while getting ready.
Are lockers available?
Yes. Lockers are available for attendees. Where possible, we recommend bringing your own padlock; approximately 40mm is usually suitable.
Can I bring alcohol?
Generally, yes. The Ecclesia is BYOB, and customers often bring their own alcohol for the evening.
However, for workshops we advise attendees not to drink until the workshop portion has ended, and some kink or specialist events may have additional restrictions. Please check the individual event listing and any pre-event information for specific guidance.
Please drink responsibly, and remember that alcohol does not change the requirement for clear, informed and ongoing consent.
Do I need to bring cash for soft drinks, snacks or water?
Usually, no.
At most Ecclesia events, soft drinks, mixers and snacks are included as part of your entry. We also have two drinking-water fountains available within the venue.
The snacks available vary from event to event, but we generally provide a mixture of sweet and savoury options alongside a selection of soft drinks and mixers.
If an individual event includes anything that requires an additional payment, or there is a particular reason you may need to bring cash, we will make this clear in the event listing and/or your pre-event email.
Are drinks and safer-sex supplies available?
We normally provide soft drinks and snacks alongside useful safer-sex supplies such as condoms and lubricant. Please note, we also offer latex free, internal condoms, various sizes from trim, through to king and limited ‘my-size’ condoms.
You are welcome to bring anything specific you personally prefer to use.
Dress Codes & Themed Events
Is there a dress code?
This depends on the event. Some events have specific themes or dress requirements while others are considerably more relaxed.
Always check the event listing before attending.
Do I have to wear fetish clothing or lingerie?
Not unless the individual event specifically requires it. Some attendees love dressing for the occasion while others prefer something much simpler.
The individual event listing will explain any specific expectations.
Do themed events have different rules?
The core rules around consent, safety and behaviour remain the same at every event.
Particular events may have their own dress codes, formats, activities, entry requirements or additional event-specific rules. These will be explained in the event listing or your pre-event information.
Phones, Photography & Privacy
Are photographs or videos allowed during events?
No. Photography and filming are not permitted during normal Ecclesia events. Phones and cameras should be kept away.
Our attendees are entitled to enjoy the venue without worrying that they may appear in somebody else’s photograph or recording.
Can photographs ever be taken inside The Ecclesia?
Only with explicit permission in appropriate circumstances. For example, photography may sometimes be permitted within a private space or as part of a private hire arrangement.
Club permission and the consent of everyone who may be photographed or recorded are required. Never assume photography is acceptable simply because you are in a private room.
What about Meta glasses or other recording devices?
Recording-enabled smart glasses and similar covert or wearable recording devices are not permitted.
Anyone caught using Meta glasses or similar equipment at an event can expect to be banned from The Ecclesia. Where recordings have actually been made, we may also involve the appropriate authorities where necessary.
Can you tell me who is attending an event?
No. We do not provide attendee lists or confirm somebody else’s attendance simply because another customer asks. Their privacy matters just as much as yours.
Will you tell somebody else that I attended?
We do not routinely disclose information about who attends our events. We take attendee privacy seriously.
There may be exceptional circumstances where information must lawfully be disclosed, but attendance information is not something we casually share with other customers.
I need to avoid another attendee. Can you help?
Yes. If there is somebody you genuinely need to avoid, contact us privately and explain the situation.
Where appropriate we can establish what we sometimes call a watershed between attendees. This means that, to the best of our ability, we can try to prevent both people from attending the same event and may arrange booking transfers where necessary.
We will not turn this into an attendee-checking service or disclose another person’s bookings simply because somebody asks. The system exists to help manage genuine safety, welfare and personal circumstances.
Consent, Safety & Behaviour
Does The Ecclesia have rules?
Yes. We have a comprehensive set of club rules designed to protect our attendees, staff and venue.
You can read our general event rules here:
https://www.ecclesiaglasgow.com/provisional-rules/
These cover the broad rules that apply across Ecclesia events, including consent, safer sex, behaviour within the venue and use of the different spaces.
Some particularly important examples include:
- The Ecclesia promotes safer sex, so you should never assume that another attendee consents to bareback or otherwise unprotected sex.
- Red is the club safeword. If “red” is used during play, the activity should stop immediately so everyone involved can check in and make sure everybody is safe.
- Food and drinks should remain within the social area rather than being taken into play spaces.
- Consent must always be clear, informed and ongoing.
Individual events can also have additional event-specific rules. CFNM, Poker Night, workshops and some kink events are examples where extra rules, formats or restrictions may apply.
Where an event has additional requirements, these will usually be explained in the event listing, pre-event email and/or any dedicated information page.
Please read both the general rules and any information supplied specifically for the event you are attending.
What are The Ecclesia's rules around consent?
Consent must be clear, informed and ongoing. Nobody is entitled to touch, play with or engage sexually with another attendee without their agreement.
Consent to one thing is not consent to everything else, and consent can be withdrawn at any time. If somebody says no or withdraws consent, stop.
What if somebody makes me uncomfortable?
Tell a member of staff. You do not need to wait until something becomes a major incident before asking us for help.
If somebody is making you uncomfortable, repeatedly ignoring a boundary or behaving inappropriately, we would rather know about it.
How do I report an incident or concern?
Speak directly to the club owners, Bea and/or Twisted, or another member of staff who can get one of us immediately.
Wherever possible, please report an incident at the time it happens. That gives us the best opportunity to establish what happened, speak to those involved and address the situation swiftly.
You can also report something after an event by WhatsApp or email if you were unable or not ready to report it at the time.
What happens when an incident is reported?
Incidents are recorded and taken seriously. We will normally speak to the people involved as promptly as possible and may also speak to witnesses or others with relevant information.
What happens next depends on the seriousness and circumstances. Possible outcomes can include advice, warnings, restrictions, removal from an event or a permanent ban.
What happens in cases of serious sexual misconduct?
Serious breaches involving conduct such as stealthing, sexual assault or other non-consensual sexual activity are completely incompatible with attendance at The Ecclesia.
Where we are satisfied that somebody has committed serious misconduct of this nature, they will be banned. We will also support anybody negatively affected who wishes to report the matter to the police and will cooperate appropriately with that process.
Incidents of this seriousness are thankfully very rare at The Ecclesia.
Are drugs allowed?
No. Illegal and recreational drugs are strictly prohibited.
We support the legitimate use of prescribed medical cannabis generally, but ask that cannabis is not brought to or used at the venue because of the additional complications this can create for the club.
Do not alter prescribed treatment without appropriate medical advice. Whatever medication or substances are involved, attendees must be capable of giving clear and informed consent before participating in sexual or kink activity.
Telegram & Community
Do you have a Telegram group?
Yes. We have an active Telegram community used by Ecclesia attendees. It is a useful place to chat, meet other attendees, discuss upcoming events and sometimes organise pre-event social meet-ups.
Who can join the Telegram group?
The Telegram community is primarily for people who are booked to attend The Ecclesia and people who have attended previously.
It is a community space rather than a public hook-up group.
Can I privately message people from the Telegram group?
Not without permission. One of our key Telegram rules is no cold private messages.
Ask somebody before messaging them privately. Being in the same Telegram group does not automatically give anyone permission to contact another member directly.
Please read the group’s rules when joining.
Do I have to join Telegram to attend?
No. Telegram is optional and is not required simply to attend The Ecclesia. It can, however, be a useful way to get involved with the wider community.
Contacting The Ecclesia
What is the best way to contact The Ecclesia?
For important enquiries, WhatsApp or email are generally best.
- Email: info@ecclesiaglasgow.com
- WhatsApp: 07438 782734
- Telegram: @Tw1stedandb0nny
- FabSwingers: ecclesia_glasgow
We also have profiles on FetLife, Instagram and X, but these inboxes are checked much less frequently and should not be relied upon for important or time-sensitive enquiries.
Why have I been blocked on FabSwingers, FetLife or social media?
If The Ecclesia has blocked you through FabSwingers, FetLife or another social platform, there is a reasonable chance that you are also banned from attending the club.
Blocking may occur following rule breaches, inappropriate communication, safety concerns, previous behaviour, or because we have decided that we no longer wish to maintain direct contact. The Ecclesia is not obliged to continue communicating with somebody indefinitely.
If you genuinely need confirmation of whether you are permitted to attend, email info@ecclesiaglasgow.com.
Private Hire & External Events
Can I privately hire The Ecclesia?
Potentially, yes. We are happy to consider private parties, groups, workshops and events.
Private hires are considered individually depending on the proposed event, availability and suitability.
How far in advance should I enquire about private hire?
As early as possible. Weekend dates in particular can be booked considerably in advance because The Ecclesia runs its own programme of events.
The more notice you can give us, the more likely we are to be able to accommodate you.
Can another organiser run an event at The Ecclesia?
Potentially, yes. We are happy to work with third-party and external organisers where the proposed event is suitable for the venue and community.
These arrangements are considered case by case.
Will The Ecclesia promote another organiser's event?
Possibly. External event promotion is considered individually.
We are much less likely to promote an event that directly clashes with one of our own events, particularly where it is taking place at another venue. Contact us with the details and we can consider it.
