Join us for an afternoon exploring the ways our senses can be restricted, manipulated, confused and overwhelmed.
We’ll be running guided demonstrations and practical explorations covering sensory deprivation, vac beds, overstimulation and different ways of controlling what someone can see, hear and feel. We’ll explore how something as simple as taking away sight can completely change the experience of touch; how anticipation can become a sensation in itself; and how contrasting or layering different sensations can completely alter someone’s perception of what’s happening around them.
Expect blindfolds, sound control, different textures, temperature, pressure, sensory contrasts and plenty of opportunities to discover just how differently the body reacts when it doesn’t quite know what’s coming next.
We’ll also look at the practical side: communication, consent, checking in when someone’s senses are restricted, and how to experiment with sensory play safely.
Then, from 5pm–8pm, the demonstrations finish and we move into our open club session, giving you the rest of the afternoon to socialise, play, practise something you’ve discovered, or explore entirely at your own pace.
You can come along with a partner, friends or by yourself. You don’t need previous experience, and you certainly don’t need to participate in everything.
The event runs from 3pm-8pm, with the workshop running from 3pm-5:30pm and the afterparty following until 8pm.
Ticket prices: £5 single ladies; £15 NB/TVs; £20 single men; £20 couples
