Curious about rope play but don’t know where to start?
Join us for Rope 101, an introductory workshop designed for beginners who want to explore the art of rope in a safe, supportive environment.
Led by experienced rope practitioners, this hands-on session will cover the fundamentals of rope bondage, focusing on safety, consent, communication, and basic techniques to build your confidence.
In this workshop, you’ll learn:

Rope safety essentials and risk awareness

How to negotiate and establish consent for rope scenes

Basic knots, frictions, and simple ties (single-column, double-column, basic body harnesses)

Tips for maintaining comfort, connection, and fun during rope play

How to adapt rope for different bodies and experience levels
Who Should Attend:

Complete beginners looking to start their rope journey

Those wanting a refresher on fundamentals

Individuals, couples, and all gender identities welcome
(No prior experience required.)
What to Bring:

Comfortable clothing you can move in

Your own rope if you have it (natural fibre or synthetic – we’ll advise if unsure). Rope will be available for purchase during the workshop.

A willing partner (optional – solo attendees will be paired respectfully where possible, or some ties can be completed on yourself if you prefer)

A curious, open mind!
Important Notes:

Excluding the afterparty, this is a learning-focused workshop. Sex is not permitted during the workshop portion of the event.

All exercises are fully optional, and consent is mandatory at every stage.

Light refreshments will be provided during a short break.
Afterparty Invitation:
After the workshop, attendees are invited to stay for an optional Afterparty. The afterparty will open up The Ecclesia’s social and play spaces for a relaxed evening where you can socialise, practice your new skills (if you wish), or simply enjoy the atmosphere.
The event runs from 2pm-5pm. There is also an optional stay-to-play event afterwards, where attendees are welcome to play or socialise.
Alcohol is not permitted at this event. Limited soft drinks and snacks will be provided free of charge.
Please note that a Challenge 25 policy will be in operation at this event. There is also a vetting process in place for all attendees.
Tickets to the kink workshop are £10 per person. Attendees are welcome to stay-to-play (from 5pm-8pm) after the workshop for £10 per person.
